Ms. Chanda Kochhar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ICICI Bank Canada, is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Limited, India’s second largest bank. As recognition of her contributions to the banking industry, Ms. Kochhar was conferred with the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honours in 2011. In 2010, she was ranked 11th by Financial Times’ Top 50 Women in World Business, 10th in the Fortune’s List of Most Powerful Women in Business and 92nd in the Forbes List of Most Powerful Women in the World. Ms. Kochhar has been featured in Business Today’s annual list of 30 Most Powerful Women Leaders for eight consecutive years, from 2002 to 2010. Ms. Kochhar has a MMS degree from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (Bombay University) and an ICWA degree from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India.
Mr. Vijay Chandok is the President – International Banking and Small & Medium Enterprises for ICICI Bank Limited. Prior to his current role, Mr. Chandok was the Head of Retail Assets, Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Group and Rural & Agri Banking Group of ICICI Bank Limited. He is also the former Vice Chairman of the ICICI Home Finance Company Limited. Mr. Chandok was instrumental in the establishment and growth of ICICI Bank Limited’s SME business, which currently provides services to about one million customers. Under Mr. Chandok’s leadership, ICICI Bank Limited’s international subsidiaries have won a number of banking awards, including the Consumer Moneyfacts Award 2011 for Best Online Savings Provider in the United Kingdom and the Asian Banker Award for Excellence in SME Banking in Asia Pacific, Central Asia and Gulf Region in 2009. Mr. Chandok has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technology of Banaras Hindu University and a Masters in Business Administration from Mumbai University.
Mr. Robert Long, a business executive and corporate director, brings to the bank leadership, vision, values, decisiveness and team play. Mr. Long retired as the Vice Chairman, Operations, Ernst & Young LLP. Prior to that, he was involved with many industries, both national and international in scope. Mr. Long has successfully negotiated two significant mergers and three divestitures in the professional services sector with outstanding sustained returns to all stakeholders. Mr. Long is a Commerce graduate from the University of Toronto and a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA).
Mr. Glenn Rourke retired in January 2006, after working with a leading international financial group for over 30 years. He has lived and worked in Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, and was involved in many aspects of international banking, including overall responsibility for operations in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. He has also held a number of significant posts for the same organization in Canada, including Vice President of World Corporate Banking and Head of Corporate Banking for Eastern Canada. Past and current board positions include Chairman of the Canadian Bankers Association’s Quebec Committee, a seat on the Corporate Loan Evaluation Committee of the Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, and Chair of the Board and Chair of Investment Committee for the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation. Mr. Rourke is a bilingual native of Quebec City, and holds a degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
Hon. Sen. David Smith, currently serving in the Senate of Canada, is also a counsel and Chairman Emeritus of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, one of Canada's oldest and largest law firms. Prior to that, Sen. Smith was a Federal Cabinet Minister. He was also a member of the Toronto City Council and Metro Council. Sen. Smith has extensive experience in all aspects of municipal administrative law. He is involved with many prominent charity organizations. Sen. Smith is a graduate in Political Science from Carleton University and an L.L.B. from Queen's University.
Mr. John Thompson, an Actuary with 24 years experience in insurance, pensions and banking supervision, most recently was the Deputy Superintendent of OSFI, where he led both the supervisory and regulatory functions. Mr. Thompson served as Chair, Executive Committee, International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and has served as a member of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision. Mr. Thompson, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario.
Sriram H. Iyer is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Canada, and is also the Regional Head of ICICI Bank’s operations in North America, including the United States. Mr. Iyer has overseen the Bank’s expansion in Canada and has established a strong foundation for its growth. Mr. Iyer joined ICICI Bank in India in 1996 and has since held a number of key management positions of increasing responsibility. He was a core member of the executive team that established ICICI Bank in Canada in 2003. Mr. Iyer is an active participant with business and not-for-profit organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Conference Board of Canada and the Canada-India Business Council. He is also a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs. Mr. Iyer is a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40TM Award for 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering from the National Institute of Technology and Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
