1. What are TEXT ALERTS?
TEXT ALERTS are instant text messages on your mobile phone confirming transactions on your designated ICICI Bank Canada accounts. You will be notified on your mobile phone of any credit or debit transaction of $50 or more (in the currency of the account) such as payroll deposits, mortgage payments, pre-authorized debits or debit card purchases.

  • Visit one of our branches

5. How much time will it take for me to start receiving TEXT ALERTS?
It will take up to 2 business days for you to start receiving TEXT ALERTS after your request for registration is received.
6. How much time will it take to de-register or stop receiving TEXT ALERTS?

It will take up to 5 business days to de-register or stop receiving TEXT ALERTS after your request for de-registration is received.

7. What is the charge for this service?

There is a monthly charge of $1.50 per account (in the currency of the account). The charges will be debited from the account for which TEXT ALERTS are registered at the end of each month. The charges will not be levied after you have chosen to de-register for this service.

ICICI Bank Canada will not be responsible for charges levied by your mobile phone provider/carrier in connection with the TEXT ALERTS service.

8. From which number will I receive TEXT ALERTS?
You will receive TEXT ALERTS from 42424 (ICICI).
9. What information is sent in TEXT ALERTS?

The information in TEXT ALERTS includes:

  • Last 3 digits of your account number
  • Transaction amount
  • Transaction date
  • Transaction remarks
  • Available balance after the transaction has occurred

Sample TEXT ALERTS are:

For a cash deposit:
From: 42424 (ICICI)
Your Ac XXXXXX101 is credited CAD1,000.00 on 03 Aug. Info: Cash deposit. Total Avbl. Bal is CAD5,000.00.

For POS transaction:
From: 42424 (ICICI)
Your Ac XXXXXX101 is debited CAD1,000.00 on 03 Aug. Info: POS transaction. Total Avbl. Bal is CAD5,000.00.

10. For what accounts are TEXT ALERTS available?
TEXT ALERTS are available for our HiVALUE Chequing Account, HiSAVE Savings Account, Premium Savings Account, RSP Savings Account and Tax-Free Savings Account, in Canadian and U.S. Dollars.
11. What are the types of transactions for which I will receive TEXT ALERTS?
TEXT ALERTS will be generated for the following transactions:
Credit transactions of $50 or more Debit transactions of $50 or more
  • Cash or cheque deposit
  • Deposit of a third party cheque or bank draft
  • Direct deposits such as payroll deposit and refund of taxes
  • Transfers from a linked bank account (external and internal linked accounts in the same account name)
  • Deposits of redemptions from ICICI Bank Canada Guaranteed Investment Certificates or term deposits
  • Incoming wire transfers
  • Interest earned
  • Reversal of charges
  • ABM withdrawals
  • Transfers from your account to linked internal and external accounts in the same account name
  • Cheque clearing
  • International money transfers
  • Point of Sale (POS) transactions
  • Transfers to open new ICICI Bank Canada accounts
  • Bank draft purchases
  • Bank charges
  • Bill payments
  • Pre-authorized debits such as mortgage, car or utility payments
12. When will I receive TEXT ALERTS after making a transaction?
You will receive instant text messages on your mobile phone when the transactions are processed in your designated ICICI Bank Canada account(s).
13. For which mobile phone carriers will I receive TEXT ALERTS?
You will only receive TEXT ALERTS if your mobile phone belongs to any one of the carriers listed below:
  • Aliant Mobility
  • Bell Mobility
  • Fido Solutions
  • MTS Mobility
  • NorthernTel Mobility
  • Rogers Wireless
  • SaskTel Mobility
  • Télébec Mobilité
  • TELUS Mobility
  • Virgin Mobile Canada
14. How many mobile phone numbers can I register for TEXT ALERTS?
You can register only one mobile phone number per service registration. This will apply to all individual accounts in your name. For Retirement Savings Plans, only the annuitant may register for this service.
15. For a joint account, which account holder will receive TEXT ALERTS?
Only one mobile phone number belonging to any one of the joint account holders can be registered for TEXT ALERTS.
16. If I change my mobile phone number, how do I make sure I will receive             TEXT ALERTS at my new phone number?
You have to de-register for TEXT ALERTS for your old mobile phone number and then register for TEXT ALERTS for your new mobile phone number.
