Activation Process

Upon your arrival in Canada,

  1. Complete the Activation application online or through the Hello Canada app. 
  2. Within the Activation application, you now have a choice of opening an account with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) or you can continue with your Activation application with ICICI Bank Canada.
  3. When choosing RBC, the following steps apply
    • Complete the form, upload the required identification documents and submit the Activation application with ICICI Bank Canada.
    • Follow the steps carefully to successfully transfer funds from your ICICI Bank Canada account to your RBC account.
    • You will receive a referral document mentioning the steps to open an account with Royal Bank of Canada in your Secure Mailbox.
    • Once your account is successfully opened with RBC, the ICICI Bank Canada account will be activated, based on the information and documents shared. Please seek confirmation from RBC, Royal Bank Advisor that your account is successfully verified with ICICI Bank Canada.
    • Post verification, funds will be available in your RBC account in 1-2 business days, if applicable.
  4. When choosing ICICI Bank Canada; complete online KYC or in-person verification by visiting any ICICI Bank Canada branch or any of our authorized partners across Canada.
  5. Your account will be activated once the KYC is successfully completed.
